Bella Coola Projects

Several projects are underway in Bella Coola this year and next. Because of the remoteness, we’ve leaned heavily on local workforce and machinery. It’s more efficient, engages the community, builds sustainability—and truthfully, makes the work more rewarding.

The installs have sparked a lot of attention in the valley, and most people now know about REE Solar’s work. To make it all happen, we’ve relied on resourcefulness: using a Belarus tractor and a 1994 Kubota excavator for transport, welding and re-welding parts to keep them working with the auger, and making do with whatever’s on hand.

These projects highlight what’s possible when local expertise, creativity, and persistence come together. Every challenge becomes part of the story—and every finished system is a shared achievement for the community.
